To avoid streaks caused by rolling over wet paint, keep a wet edge by painting the entire height of the wall and then starting to move over slightly to intersect the last stroke with the next.

Using a modified stirrer, stir the paint.

Drill holes in the mixer before stirring the paint to help it mix more extensively. The holes allow the paint to circulate through the stirrer, sparging it and evenly mixing the paint.

Handle the problem tape

When using older tape, it can be challenging to peel it off the roll without tearing or trying to stick. If your painter’s tape is still peeling, microwave the entire roll for 10 seconds.

Determine the type of paint used on the existing walls.

Not sure if the paint on a wall is oil or latex? Drench a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and gently massage it across the wall in a small area. If there is paint waste product on the cotton swab, the paint is latex. Is there no paint on the cotton ball?
