Making Your Life Easier With Triplets
On July 11, 2017 by Joel Kent
Having a baby is a delightful experience, but it is also coupled with many upheavals in life, as you knew it. Your routine is now entirely planned around your newborn, their feeding time; nap time, constant changing of nappies and waking up number of times in the night. And, all of this for just one baby. Multiply this by three and imagine the scenario then.
Life with triplets can surely be a roller coaster ride for the parents with triple the fun and triple the trouble. Parents with triplets can surely use some pointers to help deal with their triple bundles of joy.
Pointers to ease the parenting of triplets
- You don’t need triple of everything Triplets might make you think that you need to buy three of everything. But, that should not be the case. You need only one changing table, a single changing mat, only one activity mat, one breast pump and a single baby monitor. Even while purchasing a stroller, look for single prams for triplets. These consist of a single unit with attached seats for babies.
- However the prams or strollers with all three seats in a row can be difficult to maneuver, especially through doorways and at post pavements. A better option is to buy pushchair for triplets that have a twin stroller in front with attachments to fit a baby carrier on top facing you. These are easy to move around and you can watch over one or two babies while moving the pram.
- Try to set a routine It helps to fix a routine for feeding the babies and their nap time along with when they are taken out for a stroll. This prevents parents from getting overwhelmed meeting the demands and needs of three babies at the same time. Also, babies appreciate routines and like to do the same things at the same time every day. However, when trying to set a routine keep in mind that with three babies, things can get unpredictable and as parents you need to be prepared to be flexible.
- Ask for helpIt can be stressful to care for three babies simultaneously. Thus, it has impact on relationships among partners. And, also in some cases, it can give rise to depression. The key is to ask for help without hesitating. Also, it helps to be specific as to what kind of help do you need, like maybe someone can go to the supermarket and buy groceries for you, or take care of the laundry or handle the kitchen for a day. Caring for three babies requires a little plan, financially and otherwise. Also, prioritise time for yourself along with babies.
